Hello Everyone,
I want to first start off by apologizing for being so slow writing updates about Big Sisters for Life. I have been so busy and on top of that going through trials and tribulations. I truly thank God for them though because they are molding me into the vessel he wants me to be. He told me some time ago in a dream "to one much is given much is required". I knew then that I was required to endure and I was going to be tested and tried by the fire. Enough about me though I know most of you who are reading this blog want to know about Big Sisters for Life.
We had our first meeting on November 1st 2008. The meeting was a success and a true blessing. Everyone introduced themselves and I gave everyone a history about the program and my personal testimony. God truly has ordained this ministry because just with the first meeting we had a break through. It is amazing to see when God gives you a ministry, and although in the beginning you do not understand why, everything eventually comes full circle for you. What the devil meant for my harm and tried to kill me with God truly turned around for my good.
The girls are truly amazing and have such bright futures, and I am so happy that they grabbed the life line that God threw out for them. My staff is wonderful and so helpful. I have wonderful mentors (Ashley Poole and Lashae Posey) they are always willing to help and encourage me at the same time. We are working very well together and are willing to make mistakes together. This is the first time for all of us to do something of this magnitude.
I would just like to say thank you to everyone who is praying for the girls and the programs' success, and all of you who have made donations to the program. I can not thank you enough. Our second meeting will be this Saturday November 8th 2008 at 11:00am. We will focus on team building so the girls can get to know staff, each other, as well as themselves. This will be our focus for the whole month of November. Big Sisters for Life will also be participating in the Outreach Ministry on November 22nd at Sterling Gym at 2:00pm. This ministry will be providing food and clothes for the homeless, and we are so proud that we were invited to come out and help. We are strong believers at Big Sisters for Life to help others because someone helped us one day and continues to help us.
We are still in need of help at Big Sisters if anyone would like to donate please email me at janiqua_hardy@yahoo.com. We are not looking for anything specific whatever God place in your heart to give, it could be electronics, appliances, clothes, food whatever you want to give we would greatly appreciate it, and if we can not use it we will donate it to someone that can.
Before I sign out I would like to encourage everyone to tell your testimony to people because you never know who heart you will touch. People need to know that God is still the same God he was in the bible days and he continues to be that same God. He is still healing, delivering, making ways out of no ways, and still being our everything. I never knew that my testimony would touch another, so do not be ashamed of where God has brought you from and where he is going to take you. Again I like to thank all of you who continue to pray for our success.

Big Sister For Life is having a selling August 28, 2008 from 11-3pm.
The Menu consists of
Fish plates (includes 2 sides, roll, and sweet tea) $6.00
Hot dog plate(includes 2 sides, and 2 hot dogs) $5.25
6 wings and roll $3.00
Cake slices $1.25
Soda 50 cents
The fundraiser will be held at 1 Cathey st greenville, sc 29609

FRUSTRATED
Hi everyone,
I am a little frustrated at the moment. At times I feel like I am not doing enough to make my program work, or I am being lazy. My passion sometimes drives me insane, but I have to stay in the will of God. If I do things without consulting him first I know I will make a mistake. Patience is the word that I must keep in front of me at all times throught the process of establishing the organization.
I just learned recently that there is a fee to file tax exempt status; therefore I am in the process organizing a hotdog sale to raise the money, the great thing about it we already got people lined up who wants to buy food. I just have to continue to stay in the will of God and go when he tells me and stand still when he tells me as well. I am just so eager to start with the girls but timing is everything. I do not want to go into it half stepping and do more damage than good. Everyone who is following along just keep me in your prayers. Pray that God gives me strength, patience, and endurance.

Updates
Hello again everyone I just wanted to give all those who are following the progress of Big Sisters For Life an update on what is going on.
Right now I am looking into getting a website created for the program where people can get information about the program and sign their child up if they want. The website will also cover events that may take place and the progress of our young women. I am also looking for some sponsors to help us out financially as well as applying for grants. If you know anyone who would like to sponsor our program or just want to make a donation please let me know.
I will soon have a meeting with my board members to discuss the progress and ways to make Big Sisters For Life better. We will also officially sign up our two girls between September 15th and October 1st. Please continue to keep us in your prayers that we will stay in the will of God!

BIG SISTERS FOR LIFE

I know I have told a lot of you about the nonprofit organization I have started called Big Sisters For Life, but those who do not know I will explain. God put in my heart about two years ago to start a mentor ship program for young girls ranging ages 13-18. The program gives the girls structure and a place to talk about anything they desire. The program insist them in education, health education, financial education, self-esteem, social skills, and relationships. I believe that our girls are caught up with the media and what the media says a female should look like, act like, and her role in society. I believe my program can help them change that, and define their own destiny. I have recently signed up two females for the program and I am looking for seven more females. If you know any young women you think will benefit from the program please let me know.
God has sent wonderful people to help me with the process of getting this started. I did not know it was going to be this much work though. There are a lot of legal matters and financial matters I have to make sure is in place. I am very excited though and I know I will appreciate the process once Big Sisters For Life takes off and change lives. I ask all of you to keep me in your prayers that I will continue to stay in the will of God.
